Dr. Schweitzer is Alumni Distinguished
Professor at the University of Tennessee and holds BA, MS, and PhD degrees
in Chemistry, an MA in the History of Religion, a PhD in History of
Science, and an ScD (Doctor of Science) in Philosophy of Science. He
is Phi Beta Kappa and is listed in Who’s Who in America. He has authored
220 publications including 19 genealogical guidebooks. Professor Schweitzer
uses historical reenactment to teach genealogy and has traced many of
his ancestral lines back to the early 1500s. He has lectured to over
200 genealogical and historical societies in the US, Canada, England,
and Germany.
Ruth Schweitzer Pratt, retired Assistant
Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, VA, holds a
BA in Mathematics and an MS in Computer Science. In her position at
the FED, she was director of the Automation Department and Customer
Support where she was responsible for training financial institutions
on the use of the FEDs PC applications. In her capacity as an Officer
of the Federal Reserve Bank, she presented numerous lectures and talks
to Bankers and Banking groups on automation issues. She is owner of
a small company which specializes in the applications of computer, internet,
and video technologies to genealogy and in providing training in these
areas for genealogists.
